The latest version of the macOS is called Sequoia, which has derived its name from the Californian National Park and, more distinctively, the largest trees in the world. Among the new set of features that arrives with Macs in Sequoia is iPhone mirroring, which places the screen of your iPhone on the display of Mac and allows you to interact with it through your keyboard and mouse with the latest Video conferencing presenter previews, making necessary changes to Safari. Furthermore, the developers can port the games between Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
The free software update brings in a raft of changes to the interface, bug fixes, and the latest features. Along with these features, macOS Sequoia brings Apple Intelligence, billed as the company’s “personal intelligence system,” to both iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. These are only available with Sequoia 15.1 and will do more over time. Not all of the Macs capable of running macOS 15 have Apple Intelligence. In order to get that AI newness, you’ll need a Mac with the M1 chipset or newer. Here is what Apple Intelligence offers:
Apple is offering Writing Tools, a suite of several features that integrate into Notes, Pages, Mail, and third-party apps. There’s Rewrite, which gives you a choice of several versions of what you’ve written based on a number of tones; Proofread, which checks your word choice, grammar, and sentence structure and suggests edits-complete with explanations of the including an “accept all” or “review suggested changes” option; and Summarize, through which you can mark text, and it’ll summarize that in a paragraph, list, a table, or bulleted key points.
Image Playground creates funny images in one of three styles: Illustration, Sketch, or Animation. It comes as an app, but you can also get it through Messages. You can create your image by either selecting from available concepts, typing in a description of what you’re looking for, or selecting a photo of someone from your library.
Suppose you are an individual who likes the Memories feature Apple introduced recently in the Photos app. In that case, you definitely will be pleased to hear that Apple is making it even more personal. Instead of being stuck with a default version, you will be able to help create specific stories you want to see by describing them yourself. From there, Apple will pick the best photographs and videos that match the description, produce a storyline based on themes or themes connected with the photos, and come up with its very own movie.
Notes will now come enabled with audio transcription of sessions, but summary notes for you as well. So that way, you don’t have to focus on physically writing what’s happening. macOS Sequoia is another feature-light update. iPhone Mirroring is great. Otherwise, little to write home about. Apple quit making MacBooks stable and battery-friendly with previous software updates, either (even though the MacBook batteries are fantastic!). What’s next in terms of software? We expect that there will be more Apple Intelligent features in the late update of macOS 2025, and we expect to be closer than ever between iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
