Everyone likes to take pictures, especially when travelling. Taking photos while on a trip is the perfect way to document a beautiful scene or moment forever. Pictures of these moments are pictures that we treasure for the rest of our lives, and of course, we want the picture to be of good quality for the memory to translate through perfectly. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a super expensive DSLR camera in order to take perfect, high-quality pictures. Most people now days own an iPhone, and the iPhone camera is capable of taking great high-quality pictures. Here are some things you can do in order to get that perfect shot with just your iPhone camera:

Explore the iPhone Camera– In order to get a better idea of what the iPhone camera offers, don’t be afraid to explore all the different modes and options. There are many different shooting modes you can choose from within the Camera app, each one can help make your photo turn out greater. These modes can also help the quality of iPhone videos, not only pictures. The option to look through these modes can be found on the right side of your screen when the phone is held horizontally.

iPhone Camera’s Hidden Features– The iPhone Camera has two built-in tools that are a little bit difficult to find, but they are the determining factor between high and low-quality pictures.

Auto-focus is one of those. The auto-focus adjustment allows photographers to set a focal point before shooting a picture. The iPhone camera automatically focuses on what it thinks you want as your focal point. You can fix this by tapping on your screen where you want your focus to be, and the iPhone Camera will lock on to that spot. Another built-in feature in the iPhone Camera is auto exposure. Auto exposure aids in making your picture appearing brighter or darker. This can make a big difference in the quality of your pictures if you are photographing on a cloudy or extremely sunny day. To access this built-in feature, simply tap on your screen and then swipe up or down to add or remove light. You will be able to see the edited picture in your viewfinder, and when you are satisfied with the effect simply take your picture.

Flash and Filters– Turning the flash feature on and off, instead of leaving it to turn on and off by default makes a great difference in photos. Flash can turn on by default when unneeded and basically ruin a perfectly good picture by washing it out. iPhone Camera filters allow you to choose different effects to be placed in your photo. You can make your picture black and white, or extra colour saturated. The filters are presented in live view, so you get to see what each one looks like. To find the filters, go to the right side of your camera app, you will find it at the top of your screen. To put a filter in use, all you have to do is tap on it.

So the next time you plan on going on a trip and someone says you should buy an expensive camera in order to capture your memories perfectly, save your money to spend on your travels instead.
